While being raised in a pack is an important element for a livestock guardian puppy, there are other elements that are equally important in order to produce a confident, and well balanced puppy. Exposure to a variety of livestock animals is one such element. In this video, you can see this litter of Spanish Mastiff x puppies is learning to live with a mother goat and her kids, chickens in one pen attached to their yard, and sheep on the other side of the fence. They have been living here for the past couple of weeks, and in a couple of days, at the age of 7 weeks old, they will graduate to the bigger pasture where they will spend their days with our ewes and their lambs.
